This Masterclass in Meditation will foster insights into participants’ innate strengths and teach key strategies to improve resilience, reduce burnout and improve productivity and accountability.  

 

Each day will include a structured combination of workshops, lectures and practical training to provide an optimal balance of theoretical and practical skill development.  There is also time intentionally set aside for personal reflection, contemplation and practicing your newly learnt self-care techniques.

 

This course is a comprehensive, multi-day program designed to address the unique challenges and stressors of doctors working in the critical care environment.  

 

Course Objectives: To equip doctors with advanced meditation and mindfulness tools to reduce burnout, enhance focus, improve patient communication, and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being and purpose in their medical careers.

 

Key Features of this Masterclass:

  • Context-Specific: All practices and discussions are framed within the unique context of the medical profession. The language used is relevant to doctors, and the examples are relatable.

  • Evidence-Based: The curriculum is grounded in the latest research on mindfulness, neuroscience, and physician well-being.

  • Interactive and Experiential: The focus is on practice and discussion, not just passive listening.

  • Led by Experts: The course facilitator is a critical care physician, who is also a certified meditation and mindfulness teacher.

 

Learning outcomes:

  • Deeper Understanding of Meditation: Participants will become familiar with and practice a diverse range of meditation techniques 

  • Physiological and Psychological Effects of Meditation: Participants gain a scientific understanding of how meditation impacts the brain and body, including its effects on stress hormones, neural pathways, and emotional responses and how this affects professional and personal life.

  •  Practical Application for Patient Care: Participants learn how to use meditation as a self-care tool to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue.

  • Improved Self-Regulation and Resilience: Participants develop practical skills for emotional regulation and mental clarity, which are essential for managing the high-stress environment of healthcare.

  • Integration into a Busy Lifestyle: This masterclass focuses on building a flexible and sustainable meditation practice that can be integrated into the demanding and often unpredictable schedules of medical professionals.
